Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities
Council Operations, Community Engagement, and Leadership Support
City Rising provides strategic operational, engagement, and leadership support to the Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities (GCPD), helping strengthen the Council's capacity to advance disability policy, foster community participation, and support inclusive leadership across Indiana.
This work includes supporting the Council's efforts to expand member and community engagement, strengthen organizational capacity, and develop an updated policy platform informed by lived experience, community priorities, and emerging policy issues. Through this work, City Rising helps advance a more participatory, accessible, and community-centered approach to disability leadership and advocacy in Indiana.
Additionally, City Rising supports the Council through planning and coordinating bi-monthly Council meetings, supporting accessible public participation, facilitating communication and engagement with Council members and community stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with public meeting and accessibility requirements. City Rising also leads the planning and implementation of the Council's Annual Leadership Summit, a statewide convening designed to strengthen leadership, build relationships, and advance systems change efforts benefiting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
