In partnership with the Indy Housing Project, Anymouse, and Better Idea Holding Company, City Rising helped develop and launch the first publicly accessible, near real-time eviction filing dashboard for Indianapolis and Marion County. Created in response to the loss of existing public eviction reporting infrastructure, the dashboard represents an investment in public interest technology—leveraging data, design, and community partnership to expand public access to critical housing information. The dashboard provides regularly updated eviction filing data, historical trends, geographic analyses, and downloadable datasets to support research, advocacy, public decision-making, and community action related to housing stability and eviction.
City Rising served as the project convener and lead project manager, coordinating partnerships, shaping the project vision, and leading the design of the public-facing data framework. This work included facilitating collaboration across technical, research, and community partners; designing data structures and reporting approaches that balanced accessibility with analytical rigor; and helping establish a replicable model of public interest technology infrastructure that other communities can adapt to increase transparency, strengthen public knowledge, and support more informed responses to complex social issues.
